My name is Bentley and I am a 2 yr old male mix large breed dog.  I was rescued from a bad situation where I lived my entire life outside in a dirt backyard and was hit with a broom every time I barked for attention.  It was a scary life but now I am spoiled rotten by my awesome foster family.  They love to dress me up in lots of different hats which I am not really a fan of but hey, if it helps me find my perfect home, its all good.  I am potty trained, crate well and am good with most other dogs and cats for the most part if introduced properly.  I even get to take trips to the doggie park.   I walk well on leash and am a medium energy dog and am a great running partner.  My foster mom says I am shy when meeting some people especially men initially but I do realize they are not going to hurt me so then we are friends.  I think its because a man that used to own me hit me with a broom and threw hot water on me.  When approached to quickly I just duck my head because of that horrible memory that I am trying to erase.  I would love to be your companion and continue to get spoiled so apply so I can meet you.  It would be great to find a family that understands my past and will help me gain confidence and trust in people. I would do best in a family with a quiet household and only older children.
